In 2008, it was a chance meeting in Paris with legendary actor Omar Sharif that helped kick-start Amir El-Masry’s career in Egypt which led him to win ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Egyptian Oscars in 2009.
However Amir’s passion for acting started long before then, with his sights set on conquering artistic challenges globally. In the few years since becoming an actor in the Middle East, Amir has worked with a remarkable list of acclaimed Arab film directors and actors, including Wael Ehsan , Ali Edris, Mohamed Henedy, Yasmine Abdel Aziz, Edward, Ezat Abo Ouf Lotfy Labib, Layla Taher and Sereen Abdel Nour.
In addition to this, he has received invaluable direction on the industry and been mentored by established Hollywood actors Kevin Spacey and Omar Sharif. Having graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with a BSc degree in Criminology and Sociology, Amir still currently resides in London, where he has been accepted (after a long auditioning process!) to the prestigious Drama school, LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art).
